Abstract :
Many areas of wireless technology applicable to industrial scenarios have advanced in recent years. The expansion of wireless technology into short-range/low-power uses, advances in fabrication technologies, and the drive of consumer device markets toward complete tether-free products, all serve to steer the trends in particular directions. Activity abounds particularly in wireless sensor networks, wireless power transfer, integrated transceiver and transceiver building block design and fabrication, and RFID research. Still more advances press ahead in miscellaneous areas such as biomedical wireless devices, power amplifier design, etc. This state-of-the-art literature survey of these advances is a timely attempt to capture current trends in the field, and to highlight particular successful efforts.
