  • Abstract
Our Industry faces a ‘Perfect Storm’ generated by the potential impacts of an aging workforce, increasing demands on a T&D infrastructure that is also aging and compliance with new and envisioned energy policies. This panel paper notes the approaches and initiatives implemented at The United Illuminating Company (UI) to address these challenges. Career pathways, workforce development and knowledge transfer are key elements to ensure a competent workforce. Technology can play an important role to support knowledge management. Collaboration and commitment at all levels within our companies, our communities and our Industry are essential for us to survive the ‘Storm’, and succeed.
