Abstract :
This paper presents the performance simulation of a linear variable reluctance permanent magnet motor. With a sinusoidal current excitation, a constant total electromagnetic force can be achieved. Further study reveals that a higher total electromagnetic force can be obtained by controlling the current profile without increasing the rating of the PWM inverter. The theoretical results are confirmed by experiment
