Abstract :
The paper describes a system for monitoring conductor current and temperature, which when coupled with Lidar surveying and modeling of the power line during operation under particular conditions provides the ability to define the maximum permissible current for any operating conditions, and provides the means whereby it is possible to control the conductor condition in real time.
