Abstract :
To reduce the amount of computation time between tools and blank models in five-axis CNC machining process simulation, this paper presented a new cutting algorithm using improved Voxel model and tool revolving body. This algorithm is simple and clear with reliable calculation rate. By using the improved Voxel model, this paper showed a way to solve the problems that the classic voxel model cost too much time on judging whether the cutting happens or not. The tool revolving body helps to simplify intersection calculation between tools and blank models. This algorithm has been implemented under VC6.0 and OpenGL. The practice has proved its feasibility.
