Abstract
There are two kinds of soft switching techniques used in power converters namely active techniques and passive techniques. For PWM converters, passive soft switching technique reduces switching losses by lowering the main switch´s di/dt and dv/dt to achieve nearly ZC turned on and ZV turned off Further more by controlling the di/dt on the rectifier, the reverse recovery current of diodes are also controlled. The contribution of this paper is to introduce some novel topologies of soft switching converters (including forward, half bridge and full bridge PWM converters) using active energy recovery snubbers. Theoretical analysis of operation, experiment and simulation results for the forward converter are given
