Research on enterprise software architecture based on social computing

As an important component of social computing, social software incorporates online community, computer coordination work platform and one type of newly emerged software. It has caused much debate within the industry on whether social software can contribute substantially to Enterprise2.0. This paper first summarizes four major characteristics of social software, and then proves the effectiveness of these characteristics in the process of enterprise development and survival from the perspective of enterprise development requirements. Finally, it proposes an enterprise software application architecture named COMMU4E which is founded on social computing.
