Abstract :
Accurate channel estimation is crucial to many digital receiver schemes. The LMS algorithm run on a training sequence often does not show the expected behavior since additional frequency offset corrupts the estimation. This paper presents a new channel estimation procedure, called the constant modulus channel estimator (CMCE). It works similar to a constant modulus algorithm (CMA) but uses a training sequence. It has in common with the CMA that the estimation process is robust against frequency offsets.
