Abstract :
The anti-collision system for vehicles, proposed through this paper, includes a speed sensor to measure the speed of the vehicle, a space sensor to measure the distance between the vehicle and a detected object, a computer to calculate a danger-of-collision distance to the object, an alarm actuated by the computer when the sensed distance to the object is equal to or less than the calculated danger-of-collision distance, and a brake light triggered upon the actuation of the aforementioned alarm. The system also includes a control panel allowing the setting of preselected parameters, concerning the vehicle, the vehicle driver, and the environment, which are used by the computer to calculate the danger-of-collision distance to the object.
