Abstract :
The requirement of real-time becomes a constraint to the application of through-the-wall radar (TWR). Based on the Cordic algorithm, an improved algorithm was given. Then the improved-Cordic algorithm, along with Newton´s iterative algorithm, was introduced into the TWR system to simplify the time-consuming process of square root operation. The simulation shows that the accuracy is guaranteed and the speed of TWR system is improved by 15.69%.
