Abstract
In this paper the design, build and preliminary test of a linear alternator for a reciprocating engine used in a heat energy recovery system, and the simulation of a power electronic unit to inject the recovered energy into the mains supply are described. The alternator is suitable for use with resonant prime movers such as Free Piston Stirling Engines and Thermo Acoustic Engines.
