  • Abstract
This paper provides the influence of prediction methods in the driving assistance system on the whole traffic flow safety. The microscopic simulator that has the driving assistance system with accident prediction methods has been built, and the influences of the accident judgment method and the position calculation method those included in the accident prediction scheme are discussed. The simulation result of the accident judgment method shows that the trajectory prediction method is superior to the one point prediction method at each vehicle densities examined. Besides, it has indicated that the constraint of the estimating moving area enables more likelihood prediction, and enhances the safety.
