Abstract :
A novel combined modulation and error-control coding technique, referred to as shape coded modulation [Sodha, 1995], is further developed by enhancing the decoding algorithm. Simulation results over a range of signal-to-noise ratios show that a coding gain of 3 dB is achieved using a QPSK signal constellation
