Abstract :
This paper describes a flexible and comprehensive approach to incorporating diagnostic capabilities into test program sets (TPS). This approach was utilized to test components of a Westinghouse airborne radar system. This paper will relate what did and did not work during the actual use of this approach. For example, diagnostics must be part of the design of both the hardware and software to produce a concise and efficient TPS. The integration of hardware and software capabilities must be used in a concerted effort to minimize erroneous results when manual intervention is required
