Abstract
A new way in designing SCADA systems is proposed by means of embedded TCP/IP boards and Internet. Such this kind of boards and ADSL technology are used to bring Internet as the communication network into the systems. ADSL and Internet make the idea low-cost while ensuring a real-time working fashion. TCP/IP boards help create an IP-based network which provides the high flexibility. Several security tools are provided for secure operation. The experimental results show that the solution is suitable to both newly build and upgrade existing SCADA systems.
