Abstract :
This paper discusses a theoretical interface framework among software tools used to develop embedded and off-line diagnostic tests from a system engineering perspective. A universal test development model is defined as a basis for discussion of generic categories of system testing tools. The interface framework benefits are identified and several recommendations are presented to advance interface and standards development
