Abstract :
This paper describes the development of a high peak and average power X-band latching SPDT switch for use in antenna switching or energy transfer switching applications. The switch is capable of handling 500 kW peak and 666 W average power levels with external forced air cooling. It is of the differential phase shift circulator type employing a folded magic T, a short slot hybrid and two nonreciprocal 90° ferrite latching phase shifters in RG-51/ U waveguide.
