Research on centralized and coordinate controls of multiple HVDC systems in China

Abstract :
As the HVDC projects in China are rapidly developing, the DC Centralized Control Center (CCC) is put forward which is considering to be built as the main site of controlling multiple HVDC systems. In this paper, four kinds of HVDC centralized control modes are proposed. The features of them are analyzed respectively. And then it is demonstrated that the power network performance can benefit from the coordinate control of multiple HVDC systems. An approach to the network data acquisition and coordinate control of multiple HVDC systems are made. Finally, the development steps of coordinate control of multiple HVDC systems are brought forward: building CCC for the multiple HVDC systems, realizing the coordinate control of multiple HVDC systems in CCC, eventually integrating the coordinate control of multiple HVDC systems into overall AC/DC coordinate control of the whole network.
