Abstract
Due to the depletion of energy resources and consideration of the natural environment, introduction of natural energy facilities have been increasing yearly. However, due to the fluctuating power from renewable energy sources, the DC bus voltage fluctuation of DC grid becomes problematic. At the same time, there has been a increase in electrification house or residence and electric vehicles in recent years. Thus, energy control ability has also been increasing when the loads are used as controllable loads. This paper presents the DC bus voltage control by distributed controllable loads. The power system consists of diesel generators, wind generators and DC/AC loads. By applying power consumption control under the droop characteristic, the DC bus voltage fluctuations are maintained around rated value. The effectiveness of the proposed method is performed by using MATLAB/POWER SYSTEM® environment.
