Abstract
This paper presents a comparative performance of resonant, soft-switched and hard-switched single phase power factor corrected rectifier circuits for telecommunication power supply applications. Three practical rectifiers employing a boost pre-regulator and a resonant, soft-switched and hard-switched DC/DC power converter topologies respectively are built in the laboratory for the same set of requirements. It is shown that the resonant rectifier has higher efficiency than other two rectifiers. All the three rectifiers with forced air cooling are found to have the same size
