  • Abstract
    In this paper, the application of a parallel processing technique in order to obtain a more efficient version of an analytical method for estimation of voltage sags in electric power systems is presented. The algorithm was written in C programming language and performed using the GNU/Linux operating system The parallelization of the analytical method is made by using multi-thread programming (POSIX threads). POSTX is a standard for UNIX-like operating systems which specifies an application programming interface for multithreaded programming. The implemented parallelized analytical method was applied to the evaluation of voltage sags of the 30-bus and 118-bus IEEE test systems, in order to show its proper operation.
