Abstract
As improvement of wireless and mobile technologies such as FMIPv6 and mSCTP, mobile devices such as laptops and PDAs are widely used. We investigate existing Mobile IPv6 scheme such as FMIPv6 in network layer and mSCTP in transport layer and find that both of them have some defects for signaling cost in mobile IPv6 environment. So, we we make a potential change to mSCTP - combine add-IP message with set primary-IP message, and propose simplified mSCTP to further improve the mobility and to reduce signaling cost of multihoming mobile devices. The analysis result is provided showing how signaling cost in mobile IPv6 Networks could benefit from this approach.
