Abstract
This paper provides practical guidelines for improving cyber security for industrial control systems (ICSs). The scope of this paper includes ICSs that employ network-based controllers interconnected to business systems. Multiple layered security mechanisms around the controllers of ICSs mitigate the risk of security incidents. It is also important that minimum platform services and network connections keep security simple.
