Abstract :
Summary form only given. Nonthermal atmospheric plasma which can be produced by dielectric barrier discharge (DBD) has many applications in textile surface modification, which demands highly on the uniformity of the DBD. Based on the experimental setup in our laboratory, gas flow was found to be a very important factor to influence the state of the DBD and the experimental results are discussed in this paper. The results show that, in the DBD, not only can the gas flow decrease the working discharge voltage of self sustained discharge, but also it can improve and maintain the uniformity of the discharge. The optimized flow rate is advised
