Abstract :
This paper improves the traditional lumped parameter thermal model by adding compensation elements under a Canned Switched Reluctance machine. The verification by FE method shows high accuracy of this model. The sensitivity analysis, including the cooling effects and winding uncertainty is discussed. This proposed method requires little computation time and is suitable for thermal design of different SR types.
