Abstract :
This paper proposes a comparative study of MIMO channel capacity for both co-located antenna system (CAS) and distributed antenna system (DAS). In DAS we consider the channel model compassing the Rayleigh fading, log-normal shadowing fading and path loss. We find that different power allocation schemes and different locations of the mobile affect the channel capacity gain of MIMO-DAS significantly, and MIMO-DAS offers large capacity gain over the traditional MIMO-CAS, which is demonstrated in our simulations.
