Abstract :
This paper proposes the reliable multicast delivery system with a base station diversity technique for the cellular system. Previous studies of reliable multicast methods considered a single wireless link communication. Moreover a received signal intensity declines as the distance from a base station becomes long in the cellular network. Therefore the low received signal intensity causes many transmission errors in the cell boundary area. Furthermore, the multi-path fading causes the dynamic fluctuation of the received signal intensity. The phenomenon also deteriorates the transmission error performance. On the contrary, the feature of the proposed system is to examine the use of multiple wireless links and to improve the transmission performance. Each wireless terminal communicates with some neighbor base stations, and combines the frame information from different base stations. Numerical results demonstrate that the proposed system can achieve the multicast data delivery with a smaller amount of cellular wireless resources and with the shorter transmission period
