Abstract :
The addition of 8 parasitic wires connected to the cavity floor of 2 short backfire antennas were found to modify the radiation pattern shape, enabling the design of a scalar antenna with high aperture efficiency. Measured results and use of the 2 optimised antennas as feeds for low epsivGamma lenses and mechanically steered flat plate reflectors will be discussed during the presentation.
