Abstract :
Separable 2D dyadic wavelets can be constructed by one dimensional dyadic wavelet, which have been done by some researchers but they are not constructed in a uniform way. A general rule they abide by is stated in this paper. This paper further investigates application of a 2D dyadic wavelet in contour detection of handwriting, where traditional modulus maxima method is discussed, and a new connecting method of step-structure edge points is suggested. Some test examples are given.
