  • Abstract
    This paper presents code-aided (CA) carrier synchronization for TDMA signals coded by turbo convolution code (TCC). An efficient coarse carrier synchronization, which can avoid bit error diffusion and process signals with large frequency offset, is improved before feedback structure of CA synchronization. The estimation of carrier preprocessing is used to initialize the CA carrier synchronization, according to approximation of EM algorithm, and TCC soft decoding. Simulation results show that low frame error rate (FER) and low bit error rate (BER) with the CA synchronization is obtained at good performance with the improved coarse carrier synchronization.
