Abstract :
In this paper, a continuation method is applied to a power system in order to compute the voltage dynamic stability limit. After modeling of the synchronous machine, we define the voltage stability; a simple example model has been investigated where we use a constant voltage source. The implementation of the continuation method for funding solution boundary curves is given to prove the utility of this method of voltage collapse in the transient responses. The continuation method applied to a power system presented in this paper consists in a predictor step realized by the computation of the tangent vector and a corrector step obtained by means of perpendicular intersection. This paper present also a new method consist to investigate a continuation power system model using the dynamic model of a synchronous machine and automatic voltage regulator.
