Abstract :
The use of solid state power conversion equipment and other power electronic devices has increased. These devices also produce harmonics which distort the quality RF power supply. This is a concern to the power engineers and utility. Railways are one of the main utilities which use power electronic devices such as thyristor controlled equipment for its traction. This paper gives the results of measurement carried out by CPRI at various traction load feeding substations. The methodology adopted to carry out the measurements is also given
