Abstract :
In this paper, the operating principle of an advanced static VAr compensator (ASVC) which is developed in this work is based on the technique of the exact equivalence with the conventional rotating synchronous compensator. The ASVC uses a voltage source inverter, transforming a DC component to AC through a capacitor which is used as a power storage device
