The 20-over game, commonly known as Twenty20 or T20, is being described as the most revolutionary step since the advent of one-day cricket since 40 years. Twenty20 cricket is immensely popular in India. Wherever the format has been tried it has been a huge success with record number of crowds coming to see the game. Indian Premiere League(IPL) is a T20 cricket tournament that is extremely popular and watched by millions. In a cricket ground k tickets are available and for a match more than k people give demand for a ticket to watch the match. To earn more profit in that environment, in this paper an auction based truthful mechanism is proposed for selling all the tickets of the cricket ground and it is shown that our auction based scheme is significantly better than the existing scheme in terms of the total income earned in the tournament. Our scheme could be applied on any T20 match.
