Abstract :
Machineries and equipments always have high reliability when they are new. But the structures working in some poor work conditions are rapidly corroded after a period of time, and then their reliabilities and lifetimes greatly decrease. This phenomenon is especially clear for the structures of ship or the devices in the oil field. The proposed topology optimization method is to design the lightest structure working in poor work condition. In this method, reliability requirement is considered as a design constraint, and a corrosion model is built based on finite element model. Finally, two numerical examples from this proposed method are presented and discussed.
