Abstract
This paper deals with the iron loss in the electrical machines. A dynamic hysteresis model (LS model) is established for the noble material AFK502 through a series of Epstein frame measurements. The comparisons are provided between the reconstructed B-H loops and the measured loops, and also the corresponding losses. This model, coupled with the numerical method, is then used in an efficient manner in the machine sizing. With this procedure, two machines of different materials are compared in terms of current supply, losses and efficiency.
