Abstract :
Several types of processing elements are proposed. They are suitable for the design of high-speed FIR (finite impulse response), linear-phase FIR, and IIR (infinite impulse response) filters and they can be classified in one-dimensional array and two-dimensional systolic array structures. Combinations of parallel and pipelining structures are used to obtain high-speed processing elements for the FIR filter and the linear-phase FIR filter, and a pipelining structure is used for the high-speed IIR filter
