Abstract :
In this paper, the wavelength bistability is analyzed by using the relationship between the average number of photons and the input signal power while the carrier density rate is also utilized. The relationship between the cavity reflective index and carrier density is also taken into account. Three methods of controlling the width of wavelength bistable loop is proposed: to enhance the pump current properly, change top DBRs reflectivity of VCSOA without changing the radio of pump current versus threshold current or change input optical power.
