Abstract
In this study, we investigate the effects of etching additional splits in various numbers and positions on the resonance frequency of the SRR type metamaterials. Herein, instead of using externally connected lumped capacitors, we introduced additional capacitances along the outer conducting ring of the SRR at the sites of additional splits. The states of the splits (on/off) may be controlled by RF MEMS switches for adaptive control of the magnetic resonance frequency.
