Abstract :
Point-to-multipoint connections for available bit rate (ABR) services are not merely extensions of unicast ABR services. The feedback implosion problem must be solved in the case of multicast connections and hence consolidation of the feedback information at branch points becomes necessary. A new feedback consolidation algorithm for point-to-multipoint ABR services in ATM networks is proposed in this paper, aiming to achieve fast transient response and low consolidation noise. Simulation indicates that the proposed algorithm gives satisfactory results in different network configurations
