  • Abstract
Taking the process management of scientific research project as the research object, this paper analyzes management activities of Scientific and Technology Department in colleges, and establishes the business process conceptual model of it. Petri net, because of its solid mathematical foundation and graphical character, is more preferable than other analysis tools available for workflow. So it is adopted by this paper to establish the workflow model. Then, this paper introduces the notion of WF_net (workflow net) and the method of modeling workflow. Through analyzing the management activities of Scientific and Technology Department in colleges, the workflow model based on Petri net is established. After that, this paper introduces the definition of correctness offered by Aalst, presents an algorithm based on it to check the correctness of the WF_net. So these researches can give some helps to the development of information system of scientific research management.
