Abstract :
QoS routing problem of wireless multimedia sensor networks (WMSNs) is addressed for multimedia communication by using greedy policy based on geography position/location information. A QoS-supported greedy geography position-based routing algorithm is designed for WMSNs. As a main novel point, the algorithm guarantees an end-to-end delay upper bound for real-time multimedia communication inspired from SPEED firstly. Then a cost function is introduced to provide QoS support and balance the energy consumption, lifetime, and the bandwidth performance. As the important part of the algorithm, its performance in delay guarantee and QoS support are also analyzed and reasoned in theories. The results show that the algorithm can provide not only soft end-to-end delay guarantee for real time multimedia communication but also low energy consumption, optimized lifetime and good bandwidth performance.
