  • Abstract
The voltage overshoot when SCR turns off is the main damage cause for SCR in engineering applications. So it is very important to analyze SCR transient turn-off character for system design and device application. Based on that, this paper focuses on detailed transient turn-off process of SCR and builds the SCR transient recovery mathematical model. This model is very convenient to realize with common simulation software such as Matlab and Pspice. Furthermore, the parameters in the model are convenient to be gotten from the device datasheet provided by manufacturers. Besides, in this paper the proposed SCR transient recovery model is well embedded into three-phase rectifier system model. And based on the whole system transient model, the transient operating character and transient current inversion loop is studied. Finally, the simulation results coincide well with the theoretical analysis results, which verifies the correctness of the work in this paper.
