Abstract :
Magnetic tracking systems have been increasing in popularity due to their lower expense and small size of their tracked objects, but they are sensitive to ferromagnetic objects within their work volumes. Optical tracking systems can overcome this disadvantage, however there are some occlusions problem in optical system. Hence, we present a novel hybrid localization system combining optical one and magnetic one. The hybrid localization algorithm will be introduced in this paper. Experiments show that the localization accuracy of optical and magnetic hybrid localizer can be enhanced to some extent.
