Abstract :
This paper presents a study on an optimized controller for a switched reluctance generator (SRG) intended for variable-speed applications. The proposed optimization approach using “massive” simulation is described. Simulation results obtained with an 8/6 switched reluctance generator in a large range of operating conditions are presented and compiled into multidimensional tables that can be used as a design tool in the optimization process. The performance of an optimized controller for a SRG is evaluated and validated by simulation.
