Abstract :
The aim of this work is to establish a Dynamic olfactometer used as a professional nose for odor concentration measurement. The study was composed of three proposals: establishing a dynamic dilution olfactometer, calibration the olfactometer, and screening panelist. In this paper, we provide detailed instructions for the pneumatic system of the olfactometer. Criteria were used in an odor test following EN13725 and GB T14675-93 standard. Oder concentration was determined using triangle forced-choice method. The computerized dynamic olfactometer can realize with 13 dilution levels and dilution ratios 10 to 105. The central part is mass flow meter, integrated LabVIEW platform with Microsoft® Access database. Result revealed that the olfactometer can achieve an averaged instability of 2.5% and an averaged accuracy of 3% over the dilution range of 10-105.
