Abstract :
For a long time, the abundant labor resource is a solid foundation for the development of China´s foreign trade. But industry´s competitiveness that simply relies on the comparative advantages of labor would weaken gradually. On the perspective of China´s labor costs, this paper analyzes the current situation and the trend of China´s labor competitiveness. By combining average wage with labor productivity together, China´s labor cost is not a significant advantage. Labor competitiveness is affected by combined effects of various factors. Single labor comparative advantage has been weakening continuously and is not core-competitiveness for China to stand in international market. It is necessary to promote the true value of labor resource and transform comparative advantage into competitive advantage by adjustment of state policies and optimization of industrial structures.
