Abstract :
A novel monolithically integrated Micheson interferometer using intersecting twin-contact semiconductor optical amplifiers is proposed whereby the two arms are gain imbalanced to give noise suppression. Experimental OSNR improvement of 6.2 dB for 3 ps pulses is demonstrated
