Abstract
Image scaling is an important part of image processing. In order to protect edge characteristics of images, this paper proposes an improved edge-adaptive image scaling algorithm, in which the image is mainly divided into four kinds of image blocks with simple directional edge detector, and interpolation is then adaptively carried out along edge direction. Our experiment shows that the proposed algorithm can produce high-quality images with well-preserved edge and low computational complexity.
