Abstract
This paper proposes a unified model to predict the behavior of the multi-phase pulse-width-modulation (PWM) DC-DC converter with the arbitrary number of phases. This unified model is applicable to all of the common multi-phase PWM DC-DC topologies. The output current of multi-phase buck converter is analyzed as an example based on this proposed model. The expression and frequency of the output current has been derived and verified by experimental results.
